ACS sign partnership agreement with SyAM Software

Access Control Servers

Access Control Servers (ACS), a division of Accessgate, Inc. of Orlando FL, is announcing a technology partnership with SyAM Software. As a part of this agreement, ACS will offer the SyAM Software IT asset and power management solution bundled with ACS servers and workstation. The solution will allow security system integrators and IT managers alike to easily manage servers and workstation.

SyAM Software’s management tools provide advanced features which complement the robust designs offered by ACS for access control and IP based digital video solutions. These features include proactive management, hardware warning and failure alerts, remote control, and asset inventory and power management.

According to Jim Cox (Executive Partner) of ACS, “The advantages of using SyAM management software are numerous to the security industry. Coupled with the Intel based systems available through ACS, security professionals will be alerted to server and workstation issues, often before their customers know there is a problem, and can resolve issues remotely in many cases. And that is just a start.”

With SyAM Software and Intel vPro technology on ACS servers and workstation, we can now remotely start systems after hours, which have been powered down, flash the BIOS of a server in remote or unmanned facilities, and even restart a crashed computer without sending a tech into the field. The potential savings to integrators is enormous. And the value the integrators deliver to their customers is enhanced.”

ACS sign partnership agreement with Acronis

Access Control Servers of Orlando FL, has signed a partnership agreement with Acronis Software. Acronis is a leading manufacturer of disk imaging software for both Microsoft Windows™ and Linux based computer systems. ACS will offer Acronis’s award winning TrueImage™ disk imaging software on it’s entire line of servers, workstations and digital video recorders. This advanced disk imaging software allows for the imaging of live security and access control computers, even those running complex databases such as Microsoft SQL Server™, without taking systems off-line.

Now for the first time computers can be backed up in there entirety while security systems are operational, greatly reducing downtime. If a server or workstation encounters a problem, such as a computer virus, a hard disk failure, a catastrophic operating system crash or a user error, the wizard driven interface in TrueImage™ make the restoration process fast and easy. For example, an 8 GB partition on a ACS Entry Level Server containing an operating system, an access control application and a database like Microsoft's MSDE™, can be restored to a known good state in minutes.

The ACS and Acronis partnership adds true value to security systems that require up-times as close to 100% as possible, and makes disaster recover planning simple. By using disk imaging technology, the long and tedious process of reloading operating systems and applications, reconfiguring servers and workstation and restoring data is a thing of the past. Technicians of any skill level will find installing configuring and servicing ACS computers with TrueImage software fast and easy.
